The idea behind Shofar

One instrument. Every ear in camp.

Long before written notices or digital alerts, the shofar served as ancient Israel’s mass communication system — a single instrument whose blasts carried across a camp, battlefield, or city. Different sound patterns carried distinct meanings everyone recognized: a long blast signaled assembly or a festival, short staccato bursts (teruah) signaled alarm or war, and specific sequences announced the new moon, Sabbath, or Jubilee. No one needed to see a messenger or read a scroll — just be within earshot to know what was happening and how to respond.

Shofarapp.com carries that same principle forward, just with a different sense of “volume.” Set it once per event, and the right blasts go out on the right channels — written, timed, and coordinated, without you managing it by hand. We’re not ready to show you exactly how yet. That part, you’ll have to see for yourself this September.

Why we're building this

We didn't imagine this problem. We lived it.

Shofar comes from people who have actually run church communications — the missed Tuesday email, the announcement that never made the bulletin, the group text nobody saw in time. We got tired of finding out on a Sunday morning.
